I have an 81 242 manual tranny.
I have a brand new in-tank pump, a main pump about a year old, and fuel filter (although it is purolator) that is a year old as well. The car has actually been parked for most of the last year.
All this and my fuel pump is still too loud. It is not the consistent humm, but kind of chirping, although with a fairly short interval. It does not change with the temperature of the car. I don't know if it changes when I am driving because my car is too loud in general. Any ideas? Could this be an injector problem?
Possibly related - when cold the car stumbles under load/acceleration around 25 mph in 2nd gear, 35mph in 3rd.
Unrelated - I have an extra invite to Gmail. If someone wants it, lemme know where to send it to.
