Oil supply line to turbo 700

Hello.

I am replacing the Mitsubishi turbo, TD-05, in my sons’ 1987 740 Turbo. Have already received the rebuilt back from Turbo City ($282 + shipping) and must now replace the oil supply line before re-installing the turbo/manifold.

After removing the old oil supply line, I am having trouble getting the new one bolted to the block because it is such a tight squeeze.

My questions:

First, do I need to remove or loosen the oil filter adaptor to complete my task?

Second, if I loosen this adaptor, will I need to replace the o-ring between the adaptor and the block? I'm afraid that I'll introduce an oil leak if I break this seal without replacing the o-ring(s).

Finally, does anyone have another suggestions for getting this supply line re-connected?

Thanks in advance.
