I've been investigating ping with my 1980 245 B21F, and discovered that the car runs the same with or without the oxygen sensor plugged in. I tested the unit itself and saw a voltage range from .3-.8 volts, which I believe is normal. Also, the ECU unit has been tested, along with the frequency valve and voltage to that valve. I've done everything else to get rid of ping, including check for vacuum leaks, change timing, and change to premium gas, none of which has worked. So the question is, even though I still get voltage from the oxygen sensor, could it still be faulty, or partially faulty and causing eigine ping? Is there anything else I've missed that can cause ping? Thanks!
