Is this a 900 series? Fatal wreck picture

Hi, I came across this story in my local news webpage. I heard about the wreck yesterday on the radio but they did not say it involved a Volvo. The car was hit from behind by a large pickup after hitting a delivery truck at very high speed. The car looks like a hatchback to me, and not at all like a vintage 93' Volvo. Since the 700 series was phased out by then, it could only be a 900 or 850?
