On my '89 240 wagon, 195k, when I turn off the car and restart within 30 minutes, all it will do, usually, is crank with no ignition. If let to sit, it will start fine. 1 day, 2 days later, no problem. Runs fine all other times. One shop thought the one-way valve in the pump was bad and wanted to replace the whole thing. Why would it get better with more time? I've changed out the distrib cap, rotor, plugs, air filter, as part of routine maintenance. It's been doing this for about a year and hasn't gotten worse. Any thoughts?
