Reducing interior cabin noise @ speed > 100KM/H 700

Hello All,

I was wondering if any of you have experienced a relatively loud low frequency droning when travelling over 100km/H. I think that it is just engine noise in my 89 744GL (B230f - 317,000km) and I am looking to kill this sound as it drives me crazy. Will changing the motor mounts (orig - that are nearly dead) help or are there other solutions that are more useful. Maybe this is what I have to just live with as the car gets older. Who would like to share there experience in this dept?
