V8 conversion......effect on gas milage ??? 200

what would a V8 conversion do to my gas milage (obviously lower it, but how much)and how much $$ would it cost to get one and put it in.

And What are your thoughts on putting a turbo engine or newer more powerful engine in a 240DL. should i consider a bigger engine or jus lil shit like performance cams, headers, intake....ect.?? HOw much $$ would i be lookin at for a bigger engine maybe out of a wreck or somthing.

Just out of curiosity....If we have a 850R turbo and it got wrecked somhow would it be possible for me to swipe the engine and drop it in my 88'240DL?
