Hi,
Just cleaned the throttle-body and IAC-Valve on my 85 740 Non-Turbo with LH-Jetronic 2.2, and now the car idles-high at around 1200 rpm. The following article on setting base-idle mentions that the CIS-lead needs to be grounded to deactivate the IAC and set the idle. Next the CO lead is to be used to set the AMM screw.
http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/EngineFuelinjection.htm#SettingBaseIdle
The instructions indicate the leads are found in the right-inner fender wall - which I assume to mean the passenger-side area behind the headlights. However, in my car that area has the battery, coolant-expansion tank and headlight-assembly, and all wires are accounted for with no evident spare leads.
On the DRIVERs side however, I have the Air-Flow meter, Air-Filter box & Ignition-Module. I see 3 leads/terminals that are free on this side:
1. A single pink (or brown) wire near the Air-Flow meter that terminates in a quick-connect female-terminal (of the style in the link below). The terminal is encapsulated in a slim rectangular BLACK plastic-sleeve.

2. A single Red/Yellow wire near the Ignition Module that terminates in the same style of single female terminal above, encapsulated in a slim rectangular BLUE plastic-sleeve.
3. Three wires near the headlight assembly that terminate in the same style of grey 3-socket plug that is used to connect the harness to the headlight-wiring. The colors of the 3 wires are Red/Yellow, Green/Yellow and Brown.
SO: Which of these 3 are the CIS test-lead and the CO test-leads ? And if my model is not equipped with these leads, do I set the base-idle using a different procedure ?
I'd also like to test that the IAC is being triggered correctly, since I have the model with the problematic engine-harness (bad insulation). So - am I correct in expecting the IAC to open on idle, and close on acceleration ? And it opens and closes by sending a short voltage-pulse to the IAC rather than staying live - right ?
Thanks,
Noel
