'Iffy' reliability - post amu changeout 200 1985

After getting what appears to be a functional amu installed, the car ran great over several short trips.
Went to Dr's office on Wed. (about 20 mies, speed limit 55) and no prob. About half way back (after a 2hour cool-down), the engine sputtered and lost power a few times, but the wife managed to re-cover. Now she is paranoid about using it.
Other Data - I can't drive - or walk at present.
Plugs, Wires, and amu replaced (between hurricanes)
