I recently asked about getting more low-end power out of my brick.
My car is due for emissions inspection soon, and I was thinking--based on advice from many helpful people here--of buying the sport exhaust from IPD, along with a cat. converter and extended tuneup kit and having my mechanic install them.
Thing is, these things ain't cheap. They're asking 165 for the CC and 189 for the sport exhaust. (105 for the tuneup kit.) I'm not 100% sure my car will need these things right away, but it probably will in the next couple of years at most.
Should I bite the bullet and buy them? Or should I wait to see what the mechanic says is needed when he removes everything? If I do that, and those parts do need replacing, then I'd have to leave the car there for a week or come back after ordering the parts. Or just use the parts he provides, which I'm sure are pretty good. (He's the top Volvo guy in DC.)
Thanks for the great advice I know is forthcoming.
