Miss/Skip in '88 B230 after changing timing belt? (non-turbo w/ 2 valve cylinder)

Hello everyone,
I recently changed my timing belt with the help of this forum, and it took me about three & 1/2 hours; not bad I felt for the first time.
Although all went well with no surprises, I have a slight miss/skip now and my question is:

CAN THE ENGINE RUN WITH TIMING BELT OFF ONE COG?

It starts right up everytime, but occasionally dies at idle. Running the A/C, which increases idle speed about 150 to 200 RPMS, eliminates the occasional stalling, but not the miss/skip?

Thanks, Mike

P.S.- the previous belt did break while the engine was running, but at low rpms(approximately 1800)and is a B230 non-turbo w/ 2 valves per cylinder.
