It seems that every one of our 244s has a problem where the ends of the air dams come loose from their connections at the bumper ends, leaving an unsightly gap. The ends are held to the bumper ends by a tiny eye and screw that just breaks off.

The problem can be fixed using the metal clips that hold 240 series blower housings together. Get some spare clips from a local PnP, then follow these steps:

1. Remove the belly pan.
2. Release the plastic bracket (10 mm nut) that holds the bumper end to the front fender (you can install the clips without this step, but it makes it easier when you can pull the bumper ends our away from the fender).
3. The bottom of the bumper end and top of the air dam have mating flanges. Line these up.
4. Add 3-4 clips along the mating flanges. The clips are a perfect size to fit over the flanges, but you may want to squeeze them with pliers so they hold even tighter.
5. Reinstall the plastic bracket and the belly pan.

The clips will hold the bumper and air dam together so closely that they seem to be one piece. The clips are very secure, but you could further reinforce the joint by adding a little epoxy cement to them after they're installed.

I did this fix on our '92 244 and it now looks awesome!
