When I go over bumps, I get a hollow bump/squeak sound from the right rear of my suspension (1991 745 turbo).
I replaced the springs last November with Scantech heavy-duty, and at the same time replaced the shocks with OEM Volvo shocks. The muffler was replaced in February with a Volvo OEM system (at the dealer). Also, I have checked the various wells in the back of the wagon (the side ones, and the third seat, etc.) - no go with any of them.
I haven't been able to pinpoint the sound, and I rechecked the shocks and springs to make sure they are soundly installed, which they are.
Any clues as to what this might be? I wish I could record the sound for you, because it is hard to describe - a hollow bouncing sort of sound during and immediately after a bump, sometimes slightly resembling a dull, low squeak. Thanks.
