black spark plugs 1800 1972

hey there,

I keep coming up with black spark plugs.

I first found an air leak, then changed the water temp sensor, but the problem still exists to a lesser extent and I need to change them every few thousand miles.

Is this over rich mixture possibly the air temp sensor?

I am strumped, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

thank you kindly,

Grease
