First post, much lurking.
I have one of the 'rare' 82's with the lh Ώ?] fuel injection and crysler ignition. Im fairly deep into a wiring harness swap/maintenance frenzy.
After pulling the fuel rail [seals really bad on the tips] I am unsure what to do with the injectors ?connected? to the fuel rail...are these removed from the hoses? I could easily just replace the lower o-ring/seals, but if possible would like to remove all points of future failure..
I did lightly tug on the injectors to see if they were just 'stuck'.. doesnt seem so. In looking at some other posts in hunting for this answer, I am now a bit uneasy about the rareity of my brick..
Also, I dont think mine was modified, but I dont have a throttle position switch, yet have an IAC looking thing.. how would the car know when to open it if the throttle was closed?
Thanks for the help.
Dave
PS Im way into a tear down and if a volt meter could test the sensors on the engine under the intake, please point me to the proper discussion... Most things I read are for a running/volted up engine [certainly not the case right now..] I am replacing heater hoses, and engine mounts and have cleaned the oil seperator...anything else under the intake that needs tlc?
