New Speakers for my Wagon... 700 1990

Hi all,
I have a 1990 740 GLE 16v (as per my screen name) wagon and I need to get new speakers for it. I don't want to spend too much on it at the moment, I am a mere college student and my money would be better spent elsewhere. But the driver's side does not play at all, so I need new ones anyways. I was wondering if people had any recommendations for good but somewhat cheap speakers. I thought that the 5 1/4" Pioneers looked good, and my understanding is that you can fit the 5 1/4" in both the front and the back. Does anybody know how good these sound, or something that sounds better within about $20? I would love to be able to spend less that $80 per pair os speakers. Thanks for the help!

I also thought people might find it interesting that my wagon is indeed stickshift. I have yet to find another 16v stickshift in the 740 line.
