Which gauge is better for monitoring the engine, oil temp or oil pressure?

Also which would be easier to install? I have seen on ebay oil temp gauges that put the temp sensor on the drain plug. I would much prefer to have a fixed sensor that would not run the risk of breaking the wires.

Can either gauge link up with the idiot light sensor location?
