I like the idea of the Bulb Failure Warning Sensor, but... 200 1986

it seems that mine is too sensitive. It lights whenever the brake pedal is depressed. I have brand new lights installed and both are working. I've measured the current to the brake lights and it differs by only .05 Amps. 1.83 Amps and 1.78 Amps. This is a difference of less than 3%. Is it really supposed to be this sensitive? Should I buy another package of bulbs and expect them to be closer? Are there other tests I can perform to see if the sensor is okay? With both brake light bulbs removed the sensor does not light as should be the case. I've also jumpered the grounds together to no avail. This is annoying - I want this feature to work so that I'll know immediately when the bulbs are out, but I will give up soon and just pull out the warning bulb if I don't solve this soon. Thanks for your help,

Tom
