Strange happenstance this morning 200 1985

Hello all,
It's been a long time since my last post, or at least since my last headscratching problem.

This morning, on my 10 mile drive to work, after deccelerating from 60 mph or so to 35 mph or so for slow traffic, my 244 GL suddenly lost all power. I was able to coast into a handy left turn lane, but when I pressed on the accelerator all I got was a breathy roar from the engine - no power, acted as if it was starving for fuel. I filled the tank yesterday, changed the fuel pump and filter 150 miles ago, and so I sat there in neutral pumping the accelerator and scratching my head. After about 45 seconds, the engine came back to life and I was able to drive the rest of my commute normally. I drove home this evening without incident. I checked under the hood for any loose electrical connections or vacuum leaks, but found nothing. Anybody got any good (or bad) guesses about what caused this?

Bill
