Fuel system woes & Differential 700 1992

Greetings to all thowe who know more about fixing these cars than I do.

I have a 1992 745T wagon with 226K on it. Recently I started to smell fuel after driving the car. I opened the access door to the fuel tank connections. What I found was quite alarming. All and I mean ALL of he clamps that hold the rubber fuel hoses to the various metal and plastic fittings were rusted and rotten to the point of falling completly off. The only thing holding on the hoses was friction and the fact that they had been on there for the past 13 years. The connection that was leaking was the out put hose coming from the internal pump (makes sense, as that would be the one with the most pressure). I had one clamp in stock, so I stopped the leak. BUT- I'm sure it is only a matter of time before the other connections start to leak. I count 8 clamps needed- 2 for the filler hose, 2 for the fill vent hose, 2 for the fuel pumped out hose, and 2 for the fuel return hose. In addition I saw one clamp that wraped around the plastic housing that held all these fittings the wires for the pump & float, & presumably the pump & float inside the tank. Now the hose I fixed apeared to have 2 layers to it. The inner layer was cracked at the end, the outer layer looked intact. My questions are:

1. Should I try to replace all these hoses or just reclamp & let them be (I am a firm believer in if it ain't broke, don't try & fix it).

2. There was one big clamp around the housing (maybe 6-8 inch diamiter) that contained all the fittings, and electrical wires for the internal pump & float. How does this fitting come off? Just pull, screw on, or some type of bayonet mount?

3. The fittings on the tank are easy to get at for reclamping. The other ends of the hoses look harder to reach. I was thinking of jacking the vehicle, supporting it by the frame, & letting the rear axle hang to get more room. sound like a good idea, or is there a better way?

4. While under there, I noticed that the differential cover was rather wet & full of road gunk. I don't know if this is gasoline, or if the differential is leaking. Whay type of lube should I use in the differential if it needs toping off? How far do I fill it? Should I try & drain & refill it, or just top it off? If it still looks like it leaks after doing the reclamping, I plan on pulling the cover & replacing the gasket, & bolting it back up. Anything I should look for while I am in there? I have noticed on occasion that when I am backing on a hard dry surface while turning, the car shifts from side to side. It acts just like a 4 wheel drive truck that has the 4 wheel engaged, differentials locked, & turning on hard dry pavement. The tires have to scuff or drag the difference in the length of the arc that they have to travel in. Is this a sign of trouble in the differential?

Thank you in advance for any help in getting my beloved volvo back on the road. It still is the most reliable & longest lasting car I have ever owned.
