ScanTech Rubber Quality 200

I finally got around to some flame trap maintenance (last done about 1.5 to 2 years ago - a litle long) only to find the rubber fitting which connects the breather box to the 'Y' had totally disintegrated. The ScanTech rubber had swollen and become soft, I ended up replacing it with the one I had removed previously which was in perfect condition. Has anyone else had similar problems?
