Just getting into 240s with a 1988 245 that had been sitting behind a local garage for about a year after a head gasket repair. It started right up (just needed new battery) and drives fine - but lots of little things need to be done before really road worthly. Not the brightest thing I've ever done but I think it will be enjoyable fixing it up.
I've searched the archives and am still unclear what the small connector or nipple on the flame trap housing gets connected to. The current one on the car is broken and clogged. As I understand it should connect to vacuum somewhere, but the only unused vacuum line is a short line from the top of the intake manifold with braiding on the ouitside that currently sticks up with a screw acting as a plug. Took the screw out and it gets good suction. Are they supposed to connect? Somehow my impression is I need to look harder to find the right connection. And if that is true what should be connected to the braid covered hose?
Thanks to the brickboard I was able to redo the tailgate hinge wiring to get the 3rd brake light and license plate lights working! Hope you can help with this and the issues I'm sure will be coming. (never did a brake job before - might try on this one and find what I've been missing!)
