I'm the guy who had the speedo/odometer problem in my 92 240 When I start the car, the speedo needle jumps up to 120, stays there, and odometer doesn't work. I have a junk 89 i removed the cluster from, installed it in my 92, and the speedo/odo doesn't work, but everything else works fine (temp, tach, fuel, lights) I gave up... took it to a volvo shop here in asheville and they told me that the speedo head is messed up, and a new one to replace it would be $890. A used one is $500. This can't be the only way of fixing it! What is a speedo head, where is it located, and could I pull the one from my junker?
