740 Rear Seat Latch STUCK

Hello all,
My dad's 740 wagon rear fold down is stuck. The left side (smaller) folds down fine but the large section is stuck. I'm fairly sure the latch isn't working and therefore isn't releasing the seat. Tips? I checked out the FAQ section and search didn't turn anything up relevant.
