Hey,
I just thought Id post to say what I did in case anyone else out there is looking to do this as well. The total cost of the installation was under 15 bucks.
First you will need 2 dual element bulb holders from a later car (about a buck each from a pick and pull), 2 dual element bulbs (sylvania part number: 7528; 5.50 for a pair), a factory rear fog light switch (a couple bucks from a pick and pull, quite common too, but rememebr to get the harness conected to it and at least a couple inches of wire), and about 20 feet of 14ish gauge wire (2.99).
With these parts you are ready for your fog light setup!
-First, tap into a power source that is only on when the lights are on, I used the 2nd fuse from the bottem (I think it was the "left tail light" fuse) run that to the white and blue wire coming off the switch.
-Next, run the 20 feet of 14 gauge wire from the wire wire coming from the switch along the drivers side of the car under the carpet and out through the spare tire well. Take out the bottem bulb holder from your light and put it aside, it wont be reused. the dual element bulb holder and bulb will go here.
-Disconnect the brake light power wire from the top bulb holder and plug in your 20 feet of wire running from the switch there.
-Plug the brake wire into the dual element bulb holder, and repeat on the passengers side, but there is no fog light on that side, so the top most bulb holder will not function for anything.
-Ground the black wire comming off the switch and you should be done!
In case anyone doesnt know, the rear foglight switch goes between the dimmer and headlight switch on the dash.
NOTE: one of my dual element holders was black, and one was white I took them off a sedan. You have to look on the holder and see which of the 3 prongs is the ground prong, and make sure that prong goes to the ground strip on the tail light. If the wire connects on the bulb holder are too wire take a wire cutter and trim them down a mm or 2. If you get the brake light strengh light from the dual element light when only the parking lights should be on, switch the brake light wire and the parking light wire on the bulb holder. And as always you should probably disconnect your battery before doing this, even though I didnt...
Hope someone out there finds this helpful, I think it could be a handy thing to have on a foggy night. And hey, its another switch, and everyone loves switches ;-) Just make sure you dont drive all the time with it on!
