1988 odometer 200

My 240 1988 odometer doesn't work. Speedometer does work. I've had it out and it is not the gears, must be a defective chip. Anyway, I see a dashboard for sale from a 1987. It has a tach instead of a clock (which I have). Does anyone know if the plugins are the same on an 87 as an 88, and will it be difficult to change the mileage reading. My car has 130,000 the odometer I'm lokking at has 200,000 plus. Thanks for any help.
