Just this morning I wrote in to say that my brick has been running well for a week. And then after dinner I go out to buy milk and it won't start. The difference is that the fuel pump I think is making a funny sound now.
Again, the car is 84 Volvo B23F engine. Had problems before but solved them by tightening down battery posts. I swear I'm not normally so dumb.
Can someone provide a quick troubleshooting suggestion for understanding if the fuel pump is shot. The car ran great for a week and now with ignition to ON but not turning over the fuel pump starts to whirl (louder than I before, I think...) but the car won't start. Neighbour came over and sprayed some starter fluid or something into the engine and it started so we thought it had run out of gas (gauge shows 1/2 tank of gas) so I put 2 more gal in and it still won't start.
I don't mind replacing fuel pump/filter myself if it's easily done.
Thanks,
Chris
