So for those of you that remember my GT Dilemma, I decided to go with car A, $200 Blown headgasket special. Well to be quite honest, when I said both cars looked the same...that was based on what the owner said. I bought it sight unseen (I know...stupid me) But it was WAY nicer than car B. Interior almost perfect, even has door pockets!!! And sweet pioneer speakers, brand new master cylinder. Trailering it home was ridiculously easy, everything went all too well. Something wierd...I was just explaining to my dad how rare these things are when we were passed by one. Strange, huh? So we put some water in it and it ran, spewing coolant of course. I would like to do the head gasket, water pump, and timing belt next weekend, so I have a few questions... 1. What else should I do when I'm in there??? I plan on cleaning intake/tb and doing new gaskets. 2. How do I clean Kjet fuel injectors? 3. Where is a good place in Seattle/Tacoma to buy all of this stuff without first ordering it? Especially the head gasket. On the off chance the head/block be cracked,I don't weant to pay for a bunch of parts I won't use. I will sadly put in a used engine and save the GT engine for a time when I'm employed (Anyone need a barista in Seattle?) 4. I will someday want to repaint this thing. It is oxidized beyond all hope. Where's a source for the GT pinstriping? 5. The grille sucks. I can mod a 75-77 non-GT grille, but I need one more of the small plastic pieces that goes around the foglights. Anyone have a crappy GT grille? So yes. I own a GT. Me = happy. And if it is just the head gasket, I will have this thing driving, including trailering it, ferry fare, and transferring title, for less than $500. Wow. I have my dream car at 19. Also, Any BB at Seattle Central CC? We need a Volvo Club. How about Western? I'll be there next year. Peace...
