Strange problem here, so i am hoping that Don Foster will show up.
My 93 245 has had some sort of a meltdown in the lighting system, and I noticed when I lost my hi beams after the car sat for 10 days. Naturally this was when I was about tog et it inspected.
I replaced the main relay under the dash, where the relay had basically been fried, and the black and green wire was smoking hot. The white plastic connector has been melted down there. However, I still do not get the swicth over. I am abot to replace the relay under the hood-the big fat one, and see if that perhaps had failed and caused too mucyh heat. It is obvious there as well that their was enough heat to distort a connector.
I DO have the E-code head lamps in, but they have been in for many years. I looked at the wiring for the Euro cars, and they appeared to have the same gagae wire.
What could be going on here?
