Hi All,
Well like all the chronic stuff to expect, next in line was the kick down cable.
Yesterday it disconnected at the throttle, basically looks like it came off (it still has the small cylindrical thingy at the end). Reason why it came off: The cable is sticky and takes some time to retract, hence it slacks/binds when I quickly release the throttle... and just pops out I guess.
Q: I am driving with it disconnected. Of course it upshifts very early and does not downshift for that great power boost :) when I want to pass someone.
Other than that, am I doing any harm? I expect not... but just to confirm if anyone knows anything more about how the auto-tranny works. I drive 1000km/week on the highway.
Any wisdom on the repair? Can it losten if I soak the inside with penetrant... or do I just need a complete new cable. Effort to replace? Do I need to pull the oil pan?
Thanks!
