How do I permanently fix temp compensation board on '86 240? 200 1986

Since I'm going to see my parents for T'giving, I figured I'd try and bypass his temperature compensation board. The temperature needle sometimes sinks all the way down to bottom out zero indication. Then it will come back up to normal. I've heard there's a way to permanently "fix" the problem so that I don't have to keep buying the temperature compensation boards. I've replaced one several years ago...I remember it was on the lower right side on the back of the instrument cluster.

Anyone know how to bypass the temperature board?
