I have a good radiator salvaged off an 89 740 with 45,000 miles on it. Problem is, it's been stored for 8 years without capping the transmission-cooler inlet and oulet ports - bad idea, I know...
Though it's extremely clean outside, I dont want to risk installing it without making sure there are no particles (insects, bugs etc) whatsover inside that cooler that would cause tranny problems. I forced air into one end and a couple of drops of red tranny-fluid blew out the other.
I'd like to flush it first, and would like recommendations on the best method. I was planning on hooking one end to a hot-water faucet and running it for a while, and then drying it out in the sun. Good / Bad idea ?
Thanks,
Noel
