G'day all,
I am posting this for a neighbor who is computer-phobic. The car (wagon) is a '93 240 that has been meticulously cared for by the same owner since new. Actually, the work has been done by the dealer, but you get my drift. A one-owner car purchased by a knowledgable Volvo enthusiast.
The car was flooded by storm-surge when Ivan hit Pensacola on 10/16-04 (about 0200 hrs). The next morning, the owner opened the car and let it dry with doors open for a week or more. He changed the oil and started the motor. (He probably did more and will happily discuss this with a prospective buyer.) The car shows no visible sign of having been flooded, but alas, it was indeed flooded.
He has turned down $500 because he wants to sell to a fellow enthusiast who will appreciate this for what it is; the milestone of the end of an era, the era of RWD Volvos. Don't delay if you want to grab this at a reasonable price.
If you are interested, all either Rick or Jami at (850) 434-2656 from 0800-1700 CST.
Tell 'em yer kindly ol' Unka Bart sent you. Thanks.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Volvo discussion list...
