My volvo 940SE turbo auto has always had this problem: If I accellerate in town and then suddenly have to cut my speed the revs drop sharply enough to cause the engine to shut down along with the power steering etc which can be a bit of a shock. I can almost guarantee it if I zoom up to a T junction on a hill and come to a sudden stop. I certainly cant hack around in it like I did in my 740 manual. As long as I drive slowly and evenly (like everybody should) it doesnt happen but its a right pain when it occasionally does.
Tried changing fuel pump relay, rpm sensor, checked battery connections etc.
many thanks for any thoughts on the subject
