Tryin' to help my father fix his 85 Turbo Wagon. At first the car would not idle. We found damaged vacuum hoses. I replaced those. The idle is still very shaky. One main vacuum hose off of intake manifold I replaced but it is not totally snug (no clamp) - when I remove this the car dies after 30 seconds or so. I'm not sure if I put some of the turbo hoses in the right places - there's one my dad says goes onto the air filter above the turbo but I cannot find the hole. One main line that comes from turbo goes over engine and down side - where it meets a fitting there is fresh oil buildup (could this be the problem?) Does anyone have this same turbo set-up who is familiar with the hoses? Could the problem also be the air mass meter and/or fuel pump or some other device I have no clue about?
