I have another problem with my car after a few months of running well. I will tell you the symptoms and then list what has been replaced on the car recently and in the last few years. Ok, first it is a 1991 740 Turbo Wagon with 228,000 miles.
Starting up the car is fine, when you put it into gear, you usually need to tap the gas or it might stall out. After that, it is fine. Now what has been going on, is that when you drive down the road, it feels like it is losing power, the turbo gauge needle goes up towards the middle and giving more gas does not seem to do much. Sometimes when you do give more gas everything kicks and the car accelerates forward. After a few miles and stops, the idle becomes rough and sometimes needing to keep one foot on the gas and one on the accelerator to keep it going. I just don't know why it is doing this. It just started about 2-3 weeks ago.
In the past few months, I have replaced both fuel pumps, fuel relay, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotors and cleaned throttle body. The car was driving fine with these repairs until recently.
Other repairs in the last 2 years have been: alternator and belt, water pump, timing belt, rear brakes and rotors, tires, shifter cable and other things that I can't think of off the top of my head.
There is always something that pops up, I get fixed, car runs great for awhile then another thing. I get an oil change every 3,000 miles and only 2,000 miles since the last one. Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.
