Front hood hinge busted 200

Hey all,
88 240 wagon, the driver's side hood hinge broke and I cannot close the hood and its off kilter now! Is it safe to drive if I take off the spring and shove it in place until I can fix it? Will I need a whole new hood or just the hinge bracket and arm? Is it complicated to fix?
