glowing exhaust manifold 200

i just happened to notice after about a 10 minute hiway ride that my exhaust manifold, specifically on the 2 ports in the middle that are set together (b20F), was glowing a mild orange. this scares me. should it?? the car is not running lean, the plugs look perfectly tan....i was dicking around with the c/o set screw- without a meter of course- but dont see as this could be a cause for a way hot exhaust...thanks for listening, even more for replying..
