Hello again. If you have not read my other message about gauges, you should. I have yet another problem. I was driving home one day when all of a sudden, my car died. The idle had never bothered me before and is easy to adjust since it is LH fuel injected, but that day, my car just acted strangely. After restarting it, I pulled over and adjusted it until it wouldn't die anymore (a very high 1100-1300 rpm). A few weeks ago, it was about 35 degrees outside and I had to warm up my car while I scraped the ice off. This time, the idle was about 500 rpm and the car was running very rich. The problem went away after about thirty seconds, but still made me very nervous. This has not happened since, but last week, I was backing up in the parking lot and it died again. This also happens if I give it too much gas when I am starting from a stop. I am a pretty good mechanic, but I still do not know what could be causing this. The spark plug gaps are all at the factory recommended height, the fuel pumps and relays are good, the air-mass meter is good and there are no vacuum leaks.
Any suggestions would be appreciated (except that I need another car).
Thanks,
Joe
