I returned to the scene of the crime, where I heard a strange noise prior to discovering that my brick was spraying oil against the firewall. On the side of the road, I found a 1 7/8" metal cap-like thing. I assume it's the plug that came out from behind the camshaft. Do I just need the metal plug and some sealing goop, or is there some other part that I'm missing? I plan to put a Fosteresque retainer strip back there to prevent future loss of the plug.
Also, I want to clean out the flame trap, etc. to correct the crankcase pressure problem that presumably blew the sucker out. On the '85 with the B230F engine, how do I best access these (e.g. from top or underside, and does anything else have to be removed first)? I haven't even located the PCV and flame trap stuff under the intake manifold as yet, despite helpful pictures in the IPD catalog and in Brickboard FAQ's.
Thanks all.
