Hey. I've got a 1992 940 that has 2 bent alloy rims. I need to replace them, but the cost and (for me, at least) bad track record of the alloys has me thinking about replacing them with steel ones.
Right now, I've got 15x6 (Aries) alloys on the car. The messages I've read don't seem to make a big distinction in performance between the two types of rims. Here are my main questions:
1. Could I mix steel and alloy rims? 2 steel and 2 alloy on the car?
2. I can use the same tires with steel and alloy rims, right?
3. What's the market for used alloys like? Would it be worth my while to replace all 4 wheels with steels and try to sell the 2 good condition alloy rims?]
4. Should I look for aftermarket steels, try to find OEM ones, or look at a junkyard?
Thanks so much in advance. - James
