I installed the oil temp gaquge - now what the heck am I looking at 200 1990

After breaking down once in the freezing cold, I am paranoid about breaking down again. If I had a volt gauge then, I would've been able to tell that my alternator was not charging. So now that I have a oil temp gauge, what is the correct temp that my oil should be at? I have a farenheit gauge, and I see that the needle stays between the two lines after 160 degrees. Is that right? Thank you.
