Bouncing front struts 200 1991

I know the shocks need repalcement, the car has over 200K. Even my daughter hates to hear the banging over potholes. I have a pair of Turbo Gas ready to go (the rears are on), but I notice when I push the car up and down, that the top otf strut you see in the engine compartment, where the strut shock rod comes through, flexes a lot (1/4 inch?). Never seen my other 240s do this.
What should I replace here that is causing this. Not sure if this is the bearings as they make no noise. And i doubt they'd flex even if bad. What part am I seeing here?
