Hello people,I have been trying to get my cruise control working in my 1991 volvo 240 for the longest time.Let me start by saying my car did not have cruise when I got it ;however the late model 240's can be retrofitted with cruise very easily. I did get several different suggestions the last time I wrote in about cruise control. This is what I know for a fact, the 1991 volvo 240 does not have a wire going to the back of the instrument cluster .I verified this in my local junk yard where I found a 1991 240 that was in a head on collision, the rest of the car was in great shape for parts.the back of the cluster has a double spade prong on there but opon pulling the cluster out the double spade prong was covered with what looked like a small circular piece of garden hose!!! That makes my point valid that there is no wire going there...Here is where I am.,I have the vacuum pump connected,I have the combination turn signal cruise switch mounted on the steering wheel ,the brake dump valve and the diaphram for the gas pedal are connected along with all the vacuum lines ..all of the electrical plugs are connected.the cruise brain is also connected...Today I checked the bulb failure relay and replaced the bulb that indicates if a bulb is out somewhere on the vechile in the instrument panel. My cluster is exactly the same as the one in the junked car...I took the car out with everything connected like I described ,I turned the cruise on and again NOTHING...I am very puzzled I want to get this to work .I know there are good techs here..Please help me get this darn thing working. If needed I can take digital photos of all the components if that would help.. I hope someone out here in brickboard land can help me get this cruise control working.. hope to hear from you soon.. Thank you Rf64.... ps..I love my volvo..,but would love it even more if I had cruise....
