I need a wagon to haul my daughter's harp. Based on discussions here and my own experiences with my 960, I've decided that a '94 or '95 940 is the way I want to go. The preference is for the '95 model.
Now that I'm looking for one, I realize how scarce the '95s are. There seem to be more of the '94 models available. I would not be opposed to buying a high mileage car and replacing the engine, if necessary. However, I had a discussion with my new indy Volvo mechanic (just left Volvo after eighteen years and opened his own shop near my house). His thoughts were that I should stay away from high mileage cars because of the wear on non-drivetrain components such as the front end.
So I'm wondering what advice the Volvo community might have for me to either find a lower mileage car or go the high mileage route and rehab it as needed? BTW, if anyone knows of one that is available, I'm in the southeast U.S.
Thanks again for your thoughts and recommendations.
