DO I DRAIN & CHANGE or FLUSH TRANSMISSION FLUID 200 1986

It's time to service my auto transmission again. I have just over 300K on the original transmission and as second owner since 180K, have never had a lick of trouble with it. The original owner had every service done at the Volvo dealer so I know it was done every 30K according to the receipts. On my '94 & '95 850 sedans, I do the flush method to change the fluid since it's not suggested to replace the filter. Each of them have their fluids changed at 30K and with 100K on each of them, they too are problem free. On my '86 240 though, I have always drained the fluid, dropped the pan and replaced the filter and gasket every 25K. I have never noted any shavings in the pan or any attached to the small magnet at the bottom of the pan. Would anyone suggest the flush method only like I do on the 850's and leave the filter in still getting all new ATF into the system or continue as in the past? I really don't care for the mess with filter change method, but if the flush would do the trick, I'd be willing to not crawl under the car if I didn't have to.

Thanks in advance.........
