I'd be interested in your thoughts on the following: The metallic hose that feeds warm air to the air box is gone on my '85 244 w/171K. Would it be harmful to just rig the flap mechanism so that it covers neither the cold nor the hot air inlets? The car runs and idles well and it doesn't get that cold here in Cincinnati.
