Made the LED test light for setting CO mixture (O2 sensor duty cycle) and am feeling pretty good about it! It was a daunting task only because it involves the AMM and emissions re-test which will be in the coming week.
When I plugged the LED into the CO test port it was full on, no blinking whatsoever. Had to turn the AMM screw about 5 1/2 turns to the left before it would blink (I didn't time the blinks but it was almost 1sec ON, 1sec OFF).
Now I'm trying to figure out if I was previously running rich or lean? Full LED ON, no blink...O2 sensor is reading "rich" right? What is this telling the ECU? To lean things out by reducing the injector pulse width? My last emissions test had passing CO and HC (on the high side though) and failing NOx which was ~25% higher than allowable.
Just trying to better understand how my car thinks!
Thanks,
Bean
