Oil temp guage sender

On my newly aquired 83 244 Turbo, I have found that there is a vaccume hose hanging from under the oil drain plug. I'm lead to believe that this is a sender for the oil temp guage, but I guess it could be for the oil pressure guage or some think specifically for the turbo that I'm not aware of. Is this something that is going to cause an oil leak? Thanks and happy bricking.
