Instrument panel light 200 1990

The left side of the dash in my 1990 240 has gone dark. I assume I need to replace a bulb and I have several questions:
How do I get at the bulb? Is it an easy task?
Do I have to inactivate the air bag and if so, how?
Does anyone know the bulb type and number?
Are the idiot light bulbs different?
How long should the job take noting that this will be the first time I get into the dash components.
